What is CCHIT?
The Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT) is a non-profit organization charged with the mission of accelerating the adoption of health IT. Its mission includes fostering improvements in the quality, safety, efficiency and accessibility of health information technology.The efforts of CCHIT have resulted in over 200 electronic health record products meeting and being certified by mid-2009. In fact, CCHIT-certified EHR products represent more than 75% of the EHRs in the market.
